801 Squadron Skua losses Sept-Oct 1940
 
Hi guys

Can anyone add to the following:

22/9/40 Skua L2942 ditched and crew (Wigginton/King) interned Sweden

16/10/40 Skua L2902 landed Sweden (Hayes/Gordon) interned

16/10/40 Skua L???? ditched, crew (Savage/White) rescued (details?)

Ray Sturtivant (with Mick Burrow) in FAA Aircraft 1939 to 1945 (Air Britain) has Lt EG Savage and Lt HS Hayes in L2902. 801 Sqn Furious, coded 'L6K' attacked shipping at Tromso, hit by AA, unable to find ship in thick fog, ditched in Lake Vassara, Trask, nr Gallivare, Sweden, Cat W 16.10.40


L2942 801 Sqn Furious (uncoded) Trondheim, last seen in low cloud Norwegian coast, fog, Forced Landed in small river Faxalven, nr Ramsele, Sweden Cat W. 22.9.40 (S/L B F Wigginton & NA K R King Interned in Sweden for a time)
