Martin Harlinghausen

Harlinghausen, Flieger Fuehrer Atlantik, was wounded 12 Oct 41 and command of Fl.Fuh Atlantik passed to Ulrich Kessler in Feb 42. What then did Harlinghausen do-some say he commanded KG 26, some say he commanded the new Torpedo School; both were connected though?

Martin Harlinghausen

Spring 42 : became "Bevollmächtigen für die Lufttorpedowaffe" (responsible for aerial torp war )

Summer 42 : creates Torpedoschule at Grossetto and the first torp Geschwader - KG 26 - destined to fight against the arctic convoys

November 42 : becomes Fliegerführer Tunesien

End of january 43 : Leader of the II fliegerkorps in the Med until 18.6.43,date of his dismiss

Then approx one year in a second role of organization in Italy

Sept 44 : Leading of the Luftgau Wiesbaden

Last days of war : Leader of the Luftwaffenkommando West

Hope this helps Regards Marc
