303.Sqdr. markings (Polish)
Hello!
I am building two spitfires Mk II's from the above mentioned Squadron. They were the ones flying by Jankiewicz and Giermer, who shot down a Ju 52 on May 15, 1941 and I have searched many, but surely not enough places for decals, i could use, Hannants etc. etc. I have the following questions, hoping for some assistance please! 1) Were their spitfires with cannons or machineguns? 2) Did the spitfires have the white band around the fuselage? 3) Is it possible to obtain the 303 Sqdr. insignia anywhere? 4) Was this insignia and the polish red/white square worn on both sides? My knowledge about british aircraft from WW2 is much, much smaller than i thought and i hope to get some help here. Thank You in advance Christian |

I understand that a new photo publication about Polish Spitfire I/IIs is forthcoming by MMP. Giermer's aircraft will be included there, no photo of Jankiewicz's aircraft. I suppose this may be followed by some decal sheets. Quote:

Thank You once again Franek! You have helped me very much with these two pilots. Once they are done, i will send You a picture of their planes, if You are interested.
Best wishes Christian |
