Tracing owner of WW2 RAF Flying Helmet

I wonder if anyone out there can help me with the following ...... I have a complete RAF World War 2 airman's leather flying helmet ('C' type) with a name and number in the ear piece - which I believe is the original owner.

Can you help me trace any details of this chap ..... for example whether he was a pilot/navigator etc, and his Squadron. aircraft flown, where he was stationed etc and whether he survived the War etc.

If you can not help then could you give me details of any agencies etc who could help me please?

The name (which is difficult to read) is either:

Shuntt C.G. / Shontt C.G. /

The number is

A 271133

I would very much apprciate any help given!

When you reply could you send a reply to this e-mail address and also to my other mail address at tim@piranhahut.com - as I have problems with this one sometimes.

Yours sincerely

Captain Tim Osborne
