Hi RT

This is the telephone No for the airfield at Est Rechlin (Aircraft Testing Station).

No doubt it was put on when the aircraft was undergoing test there and when transfered to North Africa was never removed.

Hey RT

This plane, the right SKZ was "DQ + ZM", belonged to the E-St. Rechlin. The phone number on the fin was from these unit. Stationed was this aircraft by the tropic-section (E-Stelle Tropen) of this unit in Tunisia. In May 1943 it was damaged captured by allied troops on aerodrome La Depienne/TN.

Re: Hs129

I was joking speaking of phone number, in some case...

On the engl. doc the stkz is; ZN under port wing, DQ under starboard wing, I on the fuselage

The phone number was often applied on training aircrafts too
