wolfram von Richthofen's war diary

Anybody know if Wolfram von Richthofen's war diary ever published. If it was published where i can find it?
I am interested in the period of the Battle of Crete (May 1941), when he was commander of the VIII Fliegerkorps.
Thank you

It would be great to have anything extensive of/about this important Luftwaffe personality.

Didn't know there were plans to publish his / a war diary?

I don't know if there are any plans of publishing this war diary.Simply in the book " Luftwaffe operations in the invasion of Crete 1941" from USAFMHA the german author refers to extracts from the war diary of Wolfram von Richthofen which was edited by someone named Deichmann.

In the long article published in RAF Air Power Review number 2 summer 2004 "To stop them on the beach: Luftwaffe operation against the allied land in Italy" written by Prof. James Scorum you can find quoted the monography written by general Paul Deichmann and the diary of W.von Richthofen as a copy from the family. You can download the article in pdf format from www.raf.mod.uk

I hope this help.

Hi,

Generalfeldmarschall Dr. Wolfram Freiherr von Richthofen's diary is available in the Bundesarchiv in Freiburg. Band 9, covering 1942, has the following reference: BA-MA N671/9.

The entire diary is over 2,000 pages long, plus Anlagen.

To the best of my knowledge it has not been published.

PS - Just a small correction to Francesco's posting - the author of the Air Power Review article was James S. Corum, not James Scorum.

Cheers,
Andrew A.

Thank you very much both of you.Well it seems that the diary hasn't ever been published. Is there any chance of finding it from the Bundesarchiv site?
