12 Sqdn SAAF, Sicily 1943

Hi,
I was looking for some help in some research I was doing into 206426V Flt Sgt M J Jonker 12 Sqdn SAAF who was killed 06/08/1943 and is buried in Catania, Sicily.
Any info as regards 12 sqdn, the possible action Flt Sgt Jonker was killed in and where the sqdn had previously served would be greatly appreciated.

Many Thanks

Rich

Hi

The indivdual you ask about was killed in an attack on Bronte and shot down by flak. He was the only one killed of the crew of Boston HK892.

One more Boston succumed that day to the AAA fire and that was HK893.
