"Emmes" Schmidt of JG 51

Hello happy taxpayers,
I'm looking for the Christian name of "Emmes" Schmidt of I./JG 51, who flew as Joachim Brendel's wingman, and his score too.

Hello CJE,

You probably mean Uffz. Gerhard "Emmes" Schwarz (not Schmidt) of 2./JG 51. His score is usually given as 20, but not all of his claims have been unearthed so far. He was shot down and taken POW on 21 June 1943 and spent six and half years in captivity before returning to Germany.

A quick answer!
Could be him. His name is quoted as "Schmidt" in the old Nowarra's book on the Fw 190 but there are a few confusions in the text, so I think he is my guy.
