Leutnant Steinhardt

I am looking for any information about a Luftwaffe pilot Leutnant Steinhardt or Steinhadt, who was killed in a flying accident in April 1942, whilst attending the Night Fighter Schule at Schleissheim. I believe he was flying a He 51 at the time. Any details about how the accident occurred, or more details about the pilot himseld would be very much appreciated ie first name etc.

Many thanks,

Re: Leutnant Steinhardt

Hey David

Lt Johann Steinhardt was killed 08. April 1942 by an air-kollision with a He 51 / WNo.873. The location was Spaichersee? or Speichersee? near Munich.
He was flying a He 51 / WNo.2135, I don't knew the code of this aircraft.

Hi JoMe,

Thank you very much for the information, i am very grateful to you. I am in Germany this weekend spending 4 days with Karl-Ludwig Johanssen. Karl-Ludwig was Steinhardt's Funker and when he died Karl-Ludwig was assigned to Martin 'Tino' Becker. I'll pass on the information. Once again, many thanks,
