John B Shepherd

This pilot may have been a test or ferry pilot at Castle Bromwich in 1943-1944. Does anyone have details of RAF pilots with Supermarine during this period.

I don't have it to hand, maybe Alex Henshaws book Sigh for a Merlin may make reference ?

Keith,

Alex Henshaw was a chief pilot. A Czech F/L Vaclav Jicha DFC, Norwegian F/L Olaf Ulstad, F/L Jim Rosser and American 1/Lt Orrin Snell were in his team in 1943-44 period.

Michal

Cheers, boys!

Looks as if I have to start again. Finding Shepherd's non-operational details isn't easy. I think he was testing or ferrying Spitfires in this period but if it wasn't Castle Bromwich then where?

His record of service will still be with the MoD but you can only get access via Next of Kin
