Cheap book: only 4245 euros !!
In fact 4245.75...
I was just searching books on Amazon, found one by Eric Hammel, and that remembered me of an old idea to buy his "Pacific Air War Chronology", and checked if one was available on the site. Yes, there was one but the price is a bit expensive... it is the highest price I have ever seen for a WWII book so far.I hope it is a writing mistake and the price is around 42-45 dollars... |
Re: Cheap book: only 4245 euros !!
That is a tad steep. It doesn't appear to be a mistake, though there may be some relative "bargains" - Amazon US lists two at US$1,700 and $1,600, and Abebooks has one for $2,600 ! Appears to be multiple cases of greed, IMO.

Is the publisher still around? They should definitely do a reprint.
The cheapest one I found was $600 but even that is a bit beyond my reach... |
Re: Cheap book: only 4245 euros !!
I'm definitely against greed but a book I picked up just a few years ago for $40.00 is now going for $300.00.

Wouldn't it just be market economy capitalism :-) Mikkel

On eBay - whatever somebody is willing to bid sets the price. On Abebooks or Amazon, the seller is asking that price - whether anyone actually buys a book at those prices is unknown, but I still say the initial pricing is greed.
