Lt Gilbert Geisendorfer/Uffz Josef Schmauz
 

Does anyone have any mentions of these 2 members of 4/KG 53 (pilot and Beobachter respectively)? Both were awarded the Ehrenpokal & DKiG and survived the war but I am trying to ascertain if there were any incidents involving them. Schmauz flew 12 missions against the UK, 290 over Russia and 5 over Normandy before being taken off flying; Geisendorfer then flew V1 launching missions against the UK

Indeed they are involved, quite the same day, but maybe has to do with your question ???

Geisendorfer gilbert FF wounded on 28 06 41 Abstürzt saved with chute ?? Becker albert BO died I.KG53

Schmaus josef member of crew missed on 290641 with 6. KG53, 3 to 5 returned so one more with Schmaus

Remi & Andreas: Thanks very much for this. Please note it is Schmauz not Schmaus. I am about to interview both in preparation for a biographical book on their careers. However, I am not certain what they have in the way of documents etc but know that Schmauz still has his awards, Flugbuch and photos. Based on what I discover will convince me one way or another if the book is worth it but 300+ missions is impressive. I will keep you and this forum updated
