Bf-109 Battle of Britain Schemes
I have read that many 109Es during the B of B had yellow prob hubs, noses and rudders, but this was changed during the later stages of the battle. I'm not familiar with Luftwaffe colour schemes, so can anyone tell me if a 109E would have been adorned in these colours in august of 1940?
Also, if so, were there any yellow markings on their wings? Regards Pathfinder |
Re: Bf-109 Battle of Britain Schemes
You need to look at Classic Colours' Jagdwaffe, Volume II, Sections 1-4 regarding fighters during the BoB. It is very comprehensive.

Besides these book(let)s by Classic, there is also pretty good coverage in:
Combat Colours No. 1 The Messerschmitt Bf 109E on the Western Front - 1940 Peter Scott Guideline Publications 0-9539040-3-2 Softcover, 56p |
Re: Bf-109 Battle of Britain Schemes
Here are some scans from "Scale Aircraft Modeling, Combat Models Number 1, The Bf 109E on the Western Front - 1940" by Peter Scott. There are more in the book. Hope they may help to give you and idea.
