1000th victory of the Wing of Biggin Hill
 

AFAIK, I./JG 2 lost 4 a/c on 15 May 1943:
But I can only list three:
- Horst Hannig, over Rocquancourt;
- Harald Gebhardt, over Mondeville;
- Ernst Gödde, over Rocquancourt.
Who was the fourth man and where was he shot down?

Bois-des-Puits? I checked on a map but it's about 200 km far from the combat zone (near Caen).
Searching whom Cdt Mouchotte might have shot down, since it seems almost clear that S/Ldr Charles got both Horst Hannig and Gödde.
I won't waste my time attempting to find out who got the 1000th of Biggin Hill because the British will always say it's Charles and the French Mouchotte. That's the way it goes... :-)

Another German record says Poix-he was in a Bf 109 G-3 if that helps, This could be Flt Lt H D MacDonald of 403 Sqn's claim?

Could be since no French claimed a 109.

I have a combat report that makes claim for shooting down an me109 (bf109) on that day from an air gunner on a Boston Bomber from 107sqn RAF.
The report claims to see the damaged aircraft going into a step dive trailing heavy black smoke.
