1 ZG26-2 Bf-110 F.B.R., crashed May 10,1940 Belgium
 

Good evening to all,
Pilot of above mentioned plane was probably RENZELBERG Karl. OBERGEFREITER. Born Feb.28, 1918 NÛRENBERG.
He was KIA and burried or re-burried at Deinze (B) on Sept.1,1948, grave n° P/32/585.
Who was his co-pilot or crewmate?

Before Peter Cornwell replies, according to his and John Vasco's book, there were no I/ZG 26 losses on 10 May 40 (4/ZG 1; 4/ZG 26 only). Where are you getting your information from?

No trace of this loss in any relevant records, and no such burial recorded by the VDK. As Chris says, where does this information come from ?

The question " RENZELBERG " was a serious error on our side!
He died on May 5th, 1944.
At first he was burried in DEINZE (B) afterwards they re-burried him at LOMMEL(B), on P32 / 585.
Source: Book written by De Brouver Romain about the 2000 German soldiers on the Ehrenfriedhof of Deinze and Vinkt(B also); edition 2004 in Flemish...
A lot of Luftwaffe pilots are mentioned in it, who died on the airfield of WEVELGEM.
In 1949 all those graves were re-burried at Lommel (B) or RECOGNE(B, Ardennen-offensive).
