italian claims on 30 july 1943
 

On this date, the pilots of two C.202 of the Rhodos based 154° Gruppo claimed to have shot down two "Beaufort" out a formation of five.
One of the aircraft crashed in the sea north of "Alinnia" (probably Alimia island) and the other one 100 km. south of "Capo Prasso" (probably Akr. Prassonissi, south of Rhodos).
Does any Allied loss exist that could match with these claims?

Hello Gianandrea,

227 Squadron (four Beaufighters led by W/Cmd Mackenzie) attacked two vessels near Alimnia, off Rhodes, on 28 July and sunk one of the ships.
The raid was repeated on 30 July and the wreckage from the raid two days previously was sigthed. No losses was suffered.
I don't have any reports of air combat either but my sources could be lacking.
