Franz Eckerle 01Jan42?
 

On 01Jan42 Franz Eckerle Stab I/JG54 shot down two I-16's at 10:35 and 10:42 but doesn't have a location on Tony Wood's List.

www.allaces.ru has 01Jan42 11:35 AE Military Commissar Sergei Naumovich Dmitrievskii of the 13 IAP VMF/KBF being shot down in his I-16 on the Ladoga road "Kabona region" by a Bf-109. Efim Ivanovich Dmitriev was shot down in his I-16 shortly afterwards. Both pilots were KIA. The Russian and German times match. Does anyone have the loaction for Eckerle's claims?

Hi,

it was probably over Lagoda lake but the Germans claimed three I-16 as shot down in this clash:
- Eckerle at 10.35 and 10.42
- 2/JG54 Ofw.Karl Fuchs at 10.38
All victories were confirmed.

The 3rd I-16 was Serz. Dimitrii Alexandrovich Kirillov also of the 13 IAP. He left the scene damaged but it doesn't say what kind of landing that he made on returning. Thanks Robert.
