Nikolai F. Krasnov's fate?

Does anyone know the real fate of Mayor Nikolai Fedorovich Krasnov (HSU and VVS Ace)? "Stalin's Falcons" states he rammed a bomber on 29Jan45. "Stalin's Eagles" states he rammed a fighter on that date after firing off all of his ammo. A Russian website states he was shot down near Lake Balaton on that date.

Krasnov died of wounds on 29.01.1945 after air accident (emergency landing inspired by technical trouble). That was training flight. There weren't any ramming attacks or any air combats at all.
