Can you please help me find information on OKW operation of aircraft out of Standort. Can you point out to me an Standort specialist in this matter. Do you know the operational units using the airfield. Thanks.

"Standort" is a German word for "location" or "site". In military use it is a "post" or "garrison". I doubt that it is a place name.

Can you give us the whole German sentence that you saw the word in?

The German word is , "Standortmeldung", the word is out of the , "kriegstagebuch" from U-98, when commander Gysee is asked to be on the outlook for , die Flieger, returning from a mission to Iceland during the 19th and 20th of 1941. The order is direct from O.K.W. to the U-boat with priority higher than O.K.M. and B.d.U. O.K.W. was a Berlin based HQ but this is to me as an airport south of Berlin or close to Munich/Munchen or somewhere in between. This could be the airport used by the O.K.W. for clandistine operations and or transport of orders. If this is connected to " Deutsche Wehrmacht Reichsluftwaffe", it takes me into NATO air base Neubiberg ex US Air Force base. But I am still in the dark about the O.K.W. bases out of Berlin. Could this be an airfield on the Russian side of Berlin operated by Prussian Germans. Anyone. Thank you.

That just means "location report", it's not a place name.

Yes but when an submarine is looking for an aircraft and the Standortmeldung is connected to Standort Berlin-Staaken, I am keen to think that it has something to do with , Aufkl. Gruppe (F) Ob.d.L Stab, 1 und 2, which one I don´t know. Do you know if T9+FH, Ju 88-B-O was a round in mars, 1941. In Barry C. Rosch book, Luftwaffe Codes, markings and units, 1939-1945, on page 53 I see T9+ for Sd.Kdo.Sud and T9+FH one Ju88T-1 and the next line is T9 Versuchsverband/Ob.dL with aircraft T9+FH as Ju 88B-O. Is this the same aircraft on two markings or same markings for both aircraft.

From what you have said, Berlin-Staaken was the "Standort" (location) of whoever they were trying to contact. It was an aerodrome but the HQ of a flying unit was not always at an aerodrome, it might be in a suitable building nearby, so the official "Standort" could be there, not where the aircraft were.

I don't know enough about Ju 88 B aircraft to answer the other part of your question. Several aircraft had the T9+FH code at different times: codes were reused as aircraft were lost and replaced. At the end of the war T9+FH was an Ar 234 B for example.

Thank you for this Nick, The U-98 commander used B.d.U meldungen each day all through the mission but Standortmeldung was used when reporting back if he was hearing from an aircraft on the 22nd of may, 1941. This he did 3 times in all. The Stab of Aufkl. Gruppe (F) Ob.d.L was using the Berlin-Staaken in 1941. The Stab was of Rowehl making, ex pilots from Henchel, Junker and Dornier and ex Lufthansa pilots prior to 1939. Do you know where I can find the names of the pilots around 1939 when leaving Lufthansa and probable started for Lufthansa again in 1955, those that surrvived. Did they have a pilot uninon or something,?. What aircraft could Rowehl have used to Iceland in 19th of mars, 1941., via Stavanger. Norway. We are talking about over 9 hours of flying.
