FW 190 A-8/and F-8
 

need to look at some pics of some FW-190 `s because i have a 1/32 is a A-8 and 1/48 is a F-8 model I am putting together soon. Would like to know if the planes were used on the Eastern Front? As fighters and Tank busters?

Suggest you start by doing a search on the Internet, through Google and such, using those key words. A(ny) forum should never be the first step when looking for answers.

Tons of pictures and info are floating around already, it may take less time to find those than it takes to register for a single info question on a forum.

Part of your answer is yes, the type saw (plenty) of service on the Eastern Front, both as a fighter and as a ground attack a/c.

I wanted to check with this discussion group first . The closest WF -190 to me is a D-13 down in Seattle Washington in the Boeing site. Good war time potos are hard to find . Is there any good books out there on these aircraft ?


Decals I have for the planes are:
FW 190A-8 Rammjagers and a set of decals for JG5, JG54, and JG301. And a set for Schl. G1, I/Scal G1, 4/SG2 & 5./SG2

Of course you are welcome in this forum, but to get most out of this community it pays to show you've made a prior effort to gather the information you are after.

A(ny) public forum should not be the first place to find your answers, at least not by posting a question.

The first attempt should always be through something like Google, the second, once you've found a forum, using the search tool, since you may be looking for something that has already been answered.

Now if you are planning to use the standard decals, it is a matter of finding out if these units served on the Eastern front.

As for a good introduction into the Focke Wulf, I'd go for either a Squadron/Signal type booklet, or Focke Wulf Fw 190 in Combat, by Alfred Price. There are of course many books available on the type, but it depends on your language skills, demands and taste for that matter, which will be best for your needs.

If your language skills include German you enter a completely different ballpark.
