109 Loss over Cherbourg June 1944
Gents,
Shortly before D-Day, a Spitfire pilot from 124 Sqn claimed a 109 shot down over the Cherbourg Peninsula. Thought to have been a reconnaissance aircraft, would anyone have any information for such a loss in the week preceding 6 June for any of the following units - the 4. or 5. (F)/123 or the 1., 2. or 3. NAGr.13? TIA for any help/info Dave |

Dave
I have all of 4 & 5/123 and 1-3/NAG 13 losses for this period (as well as NAG 14). Nothing springs to view apart from a 1/NAG 13 loss in the Exmouth region 12 May 44 (and I cannot match a claim). If it is 124 Sqn you are interested in, Hibbert & Ayerst got a 109 off North Foreland on 12 Jun 44? |
