Hi,

Could anybody help myself in the identification of these two aircrafts, Bf 109E and He 111? Units, pilots etc...

Second photo appeared some time ago in japanese publication, there were other shots also I think the unit was K.G. 53. Looks like H-20 to me.

Hi,

the Bf109 could be from a training unit (EJGr West?).

Hi,

if I read correctly, the picture is from "Brieg".

Brieg was the home-base for I./NAG 102 during 1943/44. This unit flew advanced training for recce-pilots with a lot of Bf 109 Es on hand. These Emils used fighter-style codes at least during January to April 1944.

Brettas...

Heinkel He111 is an H-20 variant. Additional photos and information can be found/seen in Kampfflieger - Bombers of the Luftwaffe, Summer 1943 - May 1945 by Nick Beale (Classic) on page 329 and Luftwaffe Camouflage & Markings, 1935-45 Vol 3 by J R Smith & J D Gallaspy (Kookaburra) on page 79. These photos name one of the three crew members as Oberleutnant Dietrich Kornblum (in the centre of this photo) , Staffelkapitän 4./KG53 and another as possibly being Major Herbert Wittmann (on the right), Gruppenkommandeur II./KG53. The aircraft was coded A1+KM, with the 'K' and propellor spinner fronts in the staffel colour of white, and the location is given as probably being Plaistow on the Russian front in June 1944.

Hi,

Thank you very much for the information on He 111.

I have a Heinkel He 111 of Monogram esc 1:48 to build, but I would like to paint this aircraft with the colors and some known pilot's marks that flew He 111.
Don't I have these books, would you be possible to send me more pictures of this aircraft?
If this is possible my e-mail is, eduardobrettas@avesdobrasil.com.br
Thank you very much.
