'Wolf Head' Bf110

Hi all,

I'm trying to pin down a definite unit/location/date for the batch of famous 'Wolf Head' 110s, said to be part of Ergaenzungs Schlacht Gruppe. There are 5 photos in the back on John Vasco's 'Zerstoerer' book (Luftwaffe colours). Any help would be appreciated

Thanks,

Joe

Deblin-Irena? In Poland right?

Any advance on the unit? And a possible date?

Re: 'Wolf Head' Bf110

That's handy John, thanks.

It says:

Formed 3.43 in Deblin-Irena from the Ergänzungs-Zerstörergruppe with:
Stab/Erg.Schlachtgruppe from Stab/Erg.Zerst.Gr. (Bf 109, Fi 156)
1./Erg.Schlachtgruppe from 3./Erg.Zerst.Gr. (Bf 110)
2./Erg.Schlachtgruppe from 2./Erg.Zerst.Gr. (Hs 123, Hs 129)
3./Erg.Schlachtgruppe from 1./Erg.Zerst.Gr. (Bf 109, Fw 190)

So I'm assuming I'm looking at photos of 1./Erg.Schlachtgruppe. However, since the Erg.Zerst.Gr. was also formed in Deblin-Irena:

Reformed 18.4.41 in Deblin-Irena with:
Stab/Erg.Zerst.Gr. new
1./Erg.Zerst.Gr. from Erg.Staffel/
ZG1
2./Erg.Zerst.Gr. new
3./Erg.Zerst.Gr. from 5./
EJGr.Ost

I need to know the date so I can tell whether the unit was 1./Erg.Zerst.Gr or 1./Erg. Schlachtgruppe at the time of the photo

Thanks

Those photos are of Ergaenzungs Schlacht Gruppe Bf 110s. They are from a private collection of a pilot who was with the unit when it had that designation.
