Search p38

Hi Friends,
since long i am trying to research the fate of a crashed p38 pilot.
It is too hard, as nobody knows the exact day of crash. Witnesses say June to
August 1944,
in the area of St. Stefan/St. Lorenzen/Brunico=Bruneck /Italy-South Tyrol.
So sad, if we have debris of a plane, but no name for the heroic pilot, KIA.
No grave, no records, no name in death book and no opportunity to check all possible
MACRs in AFHRA/USA.
What would you recommend for a better success?
Does one have a FLAK hit list or a fighter Kill list for that period and location.
Any help highly appreciated.
Kind regards
rodo

Re: Search p38

I suggest to make a list of all MACRS of P38s lost in that time era,
Than try to exclude those where pilots were not KIA. Make a list of KIA members of fighter groups from ABMC.gov and go one by one...there is not so much names, P-38 planes I guess;) And then when filtered, buy all possible MACRs, and go one by one and exclude again..
that is the only way how to make a possible hit, if the date is correct...

GOOD LUCK
