Re: mosquito,firth of forth ,
The story about the German ammunition on a Mosquito originated from a recovery of a wreck from the sea in Holland and appeared in the preface to an imaginative (but far-fetched) novel "KG 200" by J.D. Gilman & John Clive.
I./KG 200 used a relatively small number of foreign aircraft for the transport of parachute agents behind Allied lines. They also used German aircraft (for example Ju 188, Ju 290, He 111). The Allied aircraft (notably the B-17) were used because of their range and capacity, there being few German equivalents available. |
