Pilots & emergency parachuting
 

I'm looking for any informations on pilots who had to make more than five emergency parachutings. (in case of technical probs, or shot down,...)
Who held the record in emergency parachuting?
(Axis side & Allied side)
Who held the record in being shot down?
(Axis side & Allied side)

I have read (maybe an urban legend; nevertheless sounds good) that one pilot received after his 11th(?) emergency para-jump the parachutists' badge honorarily.

yes a book that im reading present, says a german pilot was shot down that many times he quilifted for a paratroopers badge he made over

And there those who didn't like to parachute from their a/c. Horst Carganico was one of those. He made 2 successful forced landings northern Russia, but the 3rd forced landing, on 27 May 44, was unsuccessful and he died.

One reason for this might be that the 109 had problems in jettisoning its canopy. And there are reports from 1942 and 1943 on tests to improve the system.

Only the 109 G-1, G-3, and G-5 was built to be pressurized.

Austrian Erich Hondt wrecked quite a few planes. I don’t know how many times he actually used his parachute. I don’t know if this is the full list.

He is known to exaggerate in the letter that he left, but it remains an impressive list. On 1-10-43 he led his staffel in a frontal attack on a B-17 formation. He was hit by return fire and crashed head on into a B-17. Both aircraft lost a wing and went down. Erich Hond found himself with his hands useless due to injuries, his cockpit was on fire and the canopy was jammed shut.
When his aircraft explode he was thrown clear. He could not remember opening his parachute, but somehow it did. He floated down and landed in a Dutch field.
Due to his severe burn he was in hospital until early 1944.
On 28-5-44 he flew his next mission. Quickly he realised that he had not regained his all of his flying skills. He again collided. This time with a B-24.
I think he spent some time somewhere in a convalescent home after that.

It seems that he exagerated a little bit I just found 3 out of the 10 you listed in the official loss-returns
but the ramming seem to hv occured, some people are just killing themself just going out of their bed, it's nessary to balance
