Hi,

This might help you to work it out.

At a height of 60 Feet the Spotlight's made a figure "8".

Then at a distance of 425 yards plus or minus 40 yards the bomb was released.

At the Dam the twin towers were some 600 feet apart.

Somhow it can be worked out what the measurements for the bombsight would have been.

I would have thought that somewhere there must be an original one still .

I have also thought of what happened to those bombs that were returned to the UK from this opperation, two I beleive. Then what became of the one captured by the Germans, they recovered at least one from Lancaster wreckage.

All the best.

I do believe there is a bouncing bomb on display at the Yorkshire Air Museum, Elvington, York.
There is quite a good section about Barnes Walis and the projects he was involved with.
I am sure there is also a stick and nail bomb sight there also.
