Hs 123 shot down over Belgium on May 12 1940
 

Hello,

I'm looking after some information about a Hs 123 from 1(H)/23 shot down above Belgium on May 12 1940. Crashplace: Linsmeau ? Shot down by Hurricanes from 3 Sqn ?
Crewmembers were:
Uffz Ulbrich Wolfgang (KIA)
Fw Von Kienlin Johannes (KIA)
The crew is now buried at Lommel cemetery.

According to 'Twelve days in may' the Henschel (identified by the RAF pilots as an Hs126) was shotdown by Red Section of 3 Sqn (shared between F/Lt W.M. Churchill, FO C.A.C. Stone and Sgt R.L. Wilkinson). It is reported as crashing near Diest.

A second 'Hs126' was forced down by 3 Sqn's Yellow Section and the aircrew taken prisoner.

Hi,

Given that a crew of 2 is mentioned, I guess it was more likely an Hs-126, because, AFAIK, the Hs-123 was only a one-seat plane.
