Frontflugspanne in Silber für Aufklärer
 

Dear Gruppe,

I wonder if there were specific rules laid down for the awarding of the Frontflugspanne in Silber (or Bronze or Gold) für Aufklärer to a member of a reconnaisance unit.

Was the allocation linked to a specific number of operational flights or was it awarded based on the recommodation of a superior?

Hi Huib,

These awards were standard for all aircrew branches

Frontflugspange in Bronze - 20 fiendflug
Frontflugspange in Silber - 60 fiendflug
Frontflugspange in Gold - 110 fiendflug

A further award of Frontflugspange in Gold mit Anhänger was awarded for missions dependant on branch

für Aufklärer - 250 fiendflug
