Late War Me 109 Wood Rudders

Were all late-war Me 109 tall rudders of wood construction basically a wood frame covered with fabric or were some sheeted with wood as were some stabilizer/elevators?

Of the components sheeted with wood, was the wood skin left bare or was it covered with fabric?

Re: Late War Me 109 Wood Rudders

Any wood framed rudders had plywood covering, to provide strength to the frame. The covering was initially 1mm as I recall, but due to damage from rocks and other ground debris to the rudder, the lower covering was supposed to be thickened to 1.5mm.

The main problem was poor gluing of the components.
