Hi !

This He111-equipped unit was very active in the Belgian skies on 10/05/1940. Several of them crashed in Belgium.

I found several names of crewmembers, but I don't know who was aboard which plane : H.Schmelz, W.Wingender,W.Stramm,E.Leonhard,P.Schonherr.

Who has more details ?

Here are some of them, but I don't seem to have any Schonherr listed lost by KG27 on 10 May 1940 ?

9./KG27 Heinkel He111P-2. Shot down by F/O Thompson and Sgt Townsend of No.607 Sqdn during attack on Lille-Seclin and crashed at Lesdain 5.15 a.m. Fw H. Schmelz, Uffz W. Stramm, and Uffz E. Leonhardt killed. Uffz W. Wingender captured. Aircraft a write-off.
Walter Wingender is known to have survived the crash, but died aboard a French transport during an air attack at Dunkirk on 30 May.
