KG 76 pilots and crew ident
 

I found some photos of my father Major Rudolf Kube, who served with the I./KG 76 (Stabsschwarm) and ask if someone can help to identify his comrades:

pic 1 shows him in the middle of a group of pilots, maybe left to him is Hallensleben? And who are the others?

pic 2 shows him sitting with a map in his hand. Can anyone identify his crew? And the Ju 88 F 1 + B ??

Both pictures must have been taken in 1941 or 42, I believe on the Krim.

Any help would be highly appreciated. Thanks in advance, Horst

Hello Horst;

Yes, The Yellow band placing round-the-fuselage cross suggests period is just after June 22, 1941 as seen on many Ju 88 A-5´s of that period.

The ´double´ number/number on its nose is of much interest to me and possibly this can indentificte if it was an Stab. machine. Can you make and post a higher resulution scan of just the number on the nose? TIA...

Hi Horst,

Number is likely R.xxxx/xxx but too grainy to speculate. F.e. numbers R.8009/18 and R5290/579 are known.

Former is SFW (even numbers?) but latter is ATG (odd numbers?). If you notice number after slash is ´about half lower´ than before slash.

Explanation: R. (Rumpf <Fuselage>, Reparatur, Reich RLM etc), RLM W.Nr.: 5 (ATG) or 8 (SFW) xxx / Fuselage number xxx (ATG).
