Hi Alain,

I believe I know a little bit about Bodenplatte but I don't recall to ever have seen that number. Where did you get it? What is your source? Where did it crash?

cheers,

John.

Hi John ,

I got this "info" from a friend some years ago. According to his information the aircraft came down near the village of Ulbeek , 10 km north of Sint-Truiden ( A-92 airfield ) , it seems that the pilot was ok.Further to this info the wreckage or parts of it were found ( excavated ) on 15/16 december 1990.

Re: Operation Bodenplatte

It's the following loss;

Bf 109G-14/AS, WNr. 461200, gelbe 13, 15./JG 4
Ofhr. Arnolf Russow, born 18.06.1924, POW
Crashed near Ulbeek, NE St.Trond.

the number 1142 comes from a data plate and is not the werknummer plate. That was found too with the number 461200.

cheers,

John
