Re: Research on Georg-Hermann Greiner's second victory on Oct. 6, 1942
This was Georg's 2nd victory, which he claimed at 23.24 hours on 6/10/42, and his Gruppe's first recorded victory.(IV./NJG 1, previously designated II./NJG 2).
It was shot down into the Waddensea some 25 kilometres west of Harlingen from a height of 2,500 metres.
I visited Georg about 10 weeks ago. Unfortunately with the passing of time, and the fact he shot down over 50 bombers his memory of events has clouded with time.
