Re: Aircraft belly skin, Henschel Hs 129?
Hi, I am currently restoring the complete cockpit assembly from a Henschel Hs129B2 werk nummer 0385.
This aircraft was captured by the US army in Tunisia in 1943, full details are in Martin Peggs book.
The panel is unusual and looking at the zinc chromate primer colour amoungst other things, it could be Henschel. The factory used a wide range of primer colours and the sample looks pretty good to what I found on the cockpit.
The cowling piece on ebay looks like Henschel, I saw one in Europe a couple of years ago, looks spot on to me.
Does the werk plate shown in the discussion come from the skin? if so exactly in what physical position.
Out of curiosity, is anyone interested in Henschels? down here it registers no interest, it would be better in Germany.
Hope that this helps.
