There is no B-17 listed that day as lost over Europe. Neither in the MACR day-by-day files nor in the day-by-day catalogue of the Luftgaukommando files.
Ther are two Mustang listed that day in the general area. One P-51, AAF/sn 44-18311, 31st FG at 12:45hrs near Ditmannsdorf and the other P-51D-5-NA at 13:10hrs at Innsbruck, 1.1/2 km East of Gootzens.
