Jim, the book looks good to me. Higher ranks did fly a lot, and in this case, he was a staff colonel, judging from the flights which are mostly in courier aircraft. Looks like he was killed either in an accident, or shot down. My uncle was a major and flew many similar flights in similar aircraft at the same time. He was shot down once by Mustangs while flying an Arado trainer.
