According to my files he was Sgt A Martin in April 1941, and P/O A Martin in May, so a check of The Air Force List around that period might find him, especially if he has no middle name. His first claim was in Aug 1940, so Ken Wynn's Men of the Battle of Britain should have something (my copy has too many other books between it and me to fish it out).
I show him as claiming 4/1/1 with Barwell and Curtice as his pilots.
