Re: Roy Hussey - 72 Squadron

Keith

I am interested in the Jack Hussey story as well.

13/4/44 AFDU ORB records that Acting F/Lt Hussey was posted in from 53OTU (acting rank relinquished).
17/5/44 Hussey to CGS Catfoss for PGI course.
21/6/44 Returned from CGS
15/7/44 Hussey posted as Acting F/Lt to AFDU Gunnery Instructor Duties.
8/9/44 Hussey posted to 83GSU Aston Down for flying duties.

Something that I don’t understand is that after he was killed he was buried in a family grave at the small village of Coxley which is near Wells in Somerset but he is remembered on a memorial at Coalpit Heath about 30 miles away to the North of Bristol. Can you explain that?

Steve
