Yes, 486 Sqn was equipped with Typhoons at that time. A formation of 9 was attacked by 2 Fw190s and in the brief combat that ensued strikes were seen on both Fws and small explosion on one - which flew of towrds Gris Nez trailing thick black smoke. The Typhoons went on the attack 3 minesweepers off Le Havre at 1935 hours so the combat with the Fws was probably about 1925 hrs. 486 Sqn were credited with one damaged and one probably destroyed.
