Re: Relic clock from a HE177 ? New Pictures

Jon

I am afraid that it is unfortunately very common for items to be faked up - as many of us know. A favourite trick is for items from "anonymous" Russian (Luftwaffe) wrecks to have elaborate UK Battle of Britain histories applied to them and then sold on to unsuspecting or gulible collectors at significantly higher values than would otherwise be the case! Additionally, there are those who are not beyond re-painting relics to represent something they are not - one particularly well known example being a fragment of Dornier 17-P from a documented French loss being re-painted with a portion of swastika and sold on as a portion of Me 109 E tail fin from the Battle of Britain!

A pot of Dulux white and one of Dulux Black....and there you are!!
