Barry Rosch attempted to make some sense of it in his "Luftwaffe Codes, Markings and Units 1939-45" but even he conceded that much of what he wrote was speculation based around a limited amount of surviving photos and documentation.

With regards your code:

LK = Unknown unit
2 = Staffel 2
12 = Individual glider number

He also has a Go242 coded LK+2-9
