Re: Ju 290 transport
Hi,
Welcome to the forum... .
For starters, you could try this address:
www.warbirdphotographs.com
Scroll down slightly on the first page and click the green link, which will take you to the Luftwaffe photos, then scroll until you find Ju290, under 'Transport', I believe.
This site: www.luftarchiv.de is in German, but there is a small Ju290 selection of photos as well. If you don't understand German, follow these links on the left-side menu:
Motorflugzeuge; Extra Menue, Junkers and then point your mouse over the small ^ arrow at the top of the selection list, and it will auto-scroll the Junkers menu for you, until you reach the Ju290 link. There is also a lot of very good information on unit codes and Staffel/Gruppe/Geschwader I/D colours on this site, too, via these links: Luftfahrtindustire, Kennzeichen, Motorflugzeuge, 1939.1945. If you have any questions, just ask.
This Russian site: www.wp.scn.ru can give you an idea of typical colour schemes. Select the following links for Ju290:
WWII - bombers from the top of the page, scroll down left-side menu to Ju90/290/390, then in the centre of the page, a nationality list of user-countries will appear. Select Germany, and then on the right side of your page a list of examples will appear. Click on the page number on the right side of this list, and the colour plates will load in a few moments.
Other sources are available in print, so you can try Midland Publishing (in the UK) or Christian Schmidt's (in Munich, Germany) online outlets, or any good bookshop. Of course the same can be said for any aircraft you're interested in. You can often get lots of information here on this forum, or the likes of LEMB - www.luftwaffe-experten.org Most contributors will be happy to help and there are oftentimes plenty of photos already posted on the various sections for you to have a look at.
Hope you enjoy being part of the crowd... .
Regards,
Paul

Reason: Spelling! PS: if this post is showing partly in purple, I have no idea why!
