Re: cr. of Ju 52 Montdidier 7th June 44
Hello Barkas,
I do have F/L Burroughs and F/O Bromley, both from 414 Squadron ( RCAF ) claiming a Junkers Ju 52/3m on the 7th June 1944, to the North of Mortagne ( which I found is near Cholet, to the east-south-east of NANTES ). More than 15 men of 2./ZG 1 were killed aboard this transport aircraft.
Maybe your TG 4 machine was claimed by the USAAF? The BEST man to ask that information ( USAAF claim of Ju 52 on that day ) is Mr. Frank Olynik ( the USAAF ESPECIALIST ). You can find him on the Forumīs list. He is a very helpful researcher and man and maybe he can help you with USAAF data.
I will keep searching though...I remember an ABSA 1949-45 site very good with a lot of losses during the Normandy Campaign, but they took it out "of the air"...It was a very good tool for researchers on this period. Sorry, this is what I do have now...
All the best
