Re: Battle of Britain Bf109E found in India a few years ago?
Jagan
Until now, all the comments have been directed against those who acquired the Me 109 from a dealer in India and they have thus far not responded to the various statements and allegations made against them. Now, they have done so.
For the sake of clarity, and the avoidance of any doubt, "we" are not discussing libel and legal issues. I have merely presented, verbatim, the statement issued by Rare Aero in relation to this historic airframe and an airframe that is of interest to many on this forum. In presenting Rare Aero's statement I am not entering into any debate about libel or legal issues as you seem to suppose. On the contrary. In any event, I have no authority to discuss or debate such issues for Rare Aero (aside from this additional posting) and beyond this statement there is no intention by Rare Aero to enter into further discussion on the matter.
The position of Rare Aero has been concisely set out here. Further, it will be noted that much of the Indian news reportage is wildly inaccurate and based to an extent upon supposition. It is not based upon fact, and neither does it reflect the actual facts of the matter when viewed in relation to the paperwork and documentation relating to its sale, purchase, export and acquisition in the UK. I have been privy to those documents. I suggest, Jagan, that you have not. I would further suggest that your information is based around the various Indian newspaper reports which one would be unwise to accept as wholly relaibale!
Rare Aero have authorised me to make the foregoing comments. No further debate will be entered into.
