Re: Two Anson losses September 1939

From Air Britains 'The Anson File' by Ray Sturtivant 1988

K8845 - of 233 Sqn marked ZS-N received shrapnel damage and crashed in the estuary near Shelly Point, Leuchars on 5.9.39

K6202 - this Anson served with 608 Sqn which was a GR Sqn involved in anti-submarine patrols. It used UL codes. It had been used by several units 220 / RAE / 220 / before going to 608 (E) Sqn.

According to the above was SOC 22nd November 1939 and not 25th September 1939. Sadly no reason for its loss is given in the book or what the (E) was for but in view of its use by 220 Sqn and RAE earlier in its career it is likely to have been fitted with early ASV
