Re: Need help with ID of Bf110 "S9+CK"
Evgeny,
There is a further photo of this Bf 110 in my Classic book volume 2. At the time I attributed it to 2./SKG 210. However, I am open to ideas on that point, and would offer the following.
1. It is an 'E' variant, but was fitted with DB 601 A engines (from the photo in the Classic book). The photo in the Classic book shows this Bf 110 has a standard rear fuselage.
2. It could be Bf 110 E, S9+EK, W. Nr. 4209, of Aretz and Schilleng which returned damaged to Calais-Marck after combat over London on 5th October 1940.
3. It could be Bf 110 E-2, W. Nr. 3782, of Tillheim/Patzer on 4th June 1941 which crashed on take-off at Bretigny. There would most likely be no Russian front fuselage band applied at this time.
On balance, I would go for Tillheim/Patzer's Bf 110 of 2./SKG 210. But I wouild be interested to see other's views.
