Re: Die Personellen Verluste Der Deutschen Nachtjagdgeschwader 1940-1945

Hi Ed,

the website description of the source ("This is an incredible book. Most of the official records held at the Reich Air Ministry were long thought destroyed. Instead, the documents survived in the house of a former member of the Luftwaffe, and were found by the author only recently.") may be a bit misleading.

I heard that the 'collection' upon which this book is based is that once belonging to the late Emil Nonnenmacher, and, consisted of copies of the surviving Namentliche Verlustmeldungen, i.e. the same type of copies that more than a few board members here, for instance, also have in their own collections and upon which Herr M Balss compiled his own book, "Deutsche Nachtjagd: Personelverluste."

It will be interesting to see if the new book contains new information...

Cheers

Rod
