can you be more specific how the A-36 could have been operational before Mustang Mk I, from which it was developed? As I wrote Mustang Mk I flew its first oper sorties in May 42 and first bigger long-range missions around mid-summer 42.
And as Chris wrote, what happened during the BoB had profound influence to British thinking, also on dive-bombers.
