I am planning on building a model of the Dora. The latest release of the kit from Italeri provide an interesting scheme of the above plane. It has white distemper mostly overall except for a band around the cockpit. In checking my references, I found a photo of the aircraft on page 14 of Profile 211. The photo is taken with a low sun angle and the aircraft banking. The shadow of the horizontal stab covers a portion of the fin and rudder. My question is; is the dark area around the cockpit (which Italeri show as 70/71) simply the shadow of the wing or is it in fact unpainted with white? It looks darker than the shadow on the rudder/fin so I suspect that it has not been covered by white distemper however, I can not see a separate shadow of the wing.

Can anyone shed some light on the painting of this airplane? Thank you in advance.
